Small Business and the Internet: Does Social Networking Matter?

Opening a small business is hard work. I know, because I started a business out of my spare bedroom five years ago. Now I have an office and an employee force of ten. We got to this point because we learned how to use social networking as part of our online marketing plan. We found out quickly that creating a presence on at least two of the major social networks helped attract a lot of attention. Even better, we were able to keep in contact with those customers and let them know when we had sales or specials going on. They could also share information with ease.
